Capcom has announced two brand-new amiibo figures coming alongside Mega Man: Dual Override, both revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast. The figures are based on Mega Man and Proto Man, and Capcom confirmed they will launch on the same day as the game itself.

Two New Figures Revealed in Nintendo Direct
The announcement came as part of the Nintendo Direct showcase, where Capcom also debuted a new trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override featuring Proto Man. The two amiibo will arrive alongside the game when it releases on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in Spring 2027

While images of both figures have been shared, Capcom has not yet revealed what in-game functionality the amiibo will offer. More details on that front are expected to come closer to launch.

A New Chapter for Mega Man
Mega Man: Dual Override marks the Blue Bomber’s return to a mainline entry after Mega Man 11, which launched back in 2018. The new game is headed to both Switch and Switch 2, giving players on either platform a chance to pick it up when it drops next spring.

Proto Man’s inclusion in the game – and now in amiibo form – is already generating excitement. A dedicated Proto Man amiibo has never been released before, making this figure a first for collectors who have been waiting on the red robot for years.

What We Know About the amiibo So Far
- Mega Man amiibo – A new figure based on the classic Blue Bomber design
- Proto Man amiibo – The first ever amiibo based on Proto Man
- Both figures launch on the same day as Mega Man: Dual Override
- Release window: Spring 2027 on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
- In-game amiibo functionality has not yet been announced

Third Mega Man amiibo Overall
For those keeping track, this will be the third Mega Man amiibo released to date. The first came through the Super Smash Bros. amiibo line, and the second was a Japan-only figure tied to Mega Man 11. This new Dual Override version appears set for a wider release, which will be welcome news for fans outside of Japan who previously had to import or go without.

Whether the new Mega Man amiibo design will win over every fan is another question – some feel the figure looks a little slight compared to earlier releases, though opinions on the Proto Man figure have been largely positive so far.
More Details to Come
Capcom has kept things fairly tight-lipped beyond the initial reveal. The amiibo functionality is the biggest outstanding question, and with Spring 2027 still some time away, there is likely more to share in the months ahead. Nintendo also announced additional amiibo figures during the same Direct broadcast, so it was a big week for the format overall.

Mega Man: Dual Override launches on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in Spring 2027. Both amiibo figures will be available from day one, though pre-order details and pricing have not yet been confirmed by Capcom.
