Cyberpunk 2077 has been getting patches around the clock ahead of and following its launch, but the latest patch seems to have fixed its most concerning issue.
As first reported by, the review version of Cyberpunk 2077 was found to contain images that could risk triggering seizures in people suffering from photosensitive epilepsy.
The worst of these was the game’s braindance sequences, which caused Ruppert to have a grand mal seizure. CD Projekt Red have been quick to react to the news, having added a new ‘risk of seizure’ warning message when players first boot up the game, before working on a permanent solution.
That fix has arrived in the latest 1.04 patch, which has gone live on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Among the fixes in the, it states that it has “modified the flashing effect on braindances to reduce the risk of inducing epileptic symptoms. The effect has been smoothed out and the flashes reduced in frequency and magnitude”.
Ruppert confirmed on Twitter that she had worked with CD Projekt Red to help test this fix. “I think this will help many epileptics and non-epileptics feel safer in Cyberpunk 2077,” she said.

That doesn’t appear to explicitly address other light effects in Night City that may still be a risk to anyone suffering from epilepsy, but this does nonetheless fix the worst case that’s also tied to the main story path.
The new patch also fixes the game’s streaming mode, which was found to still containthat could lead to streamers having their content hit with DMCA strikes.
Further fixes include improved stability as well as fixing a number of bugs affecting progression in certain quests.
The patch has yet to go live on Xbox One. However, following the issues with these seizure-triggering images,has said that it would be improving its certification processes. At launch, it also appears that , while PS5 users cannot.
