While you can change your gear and weapons at any point during gameplay in Immortals Fenyx Rising, you’ll need to visit the Hall of the Gods and collect specific resources if you want to upgrade your stuff.
Once you’ve completed the opening mission and obtained the Wings of Daidalos, you’ll be able to reach the Hall of the Gods. Hermes will talk you through all the different stations available that will allow you to increase your health and stamina, brew potions and, most importantly, upgrade your gear and unlock new Abilities.
Before you can do any of that, though, you’ll need toscattered across the map and complete challenges and vaults to earn Coins of Charon and obtain Lightning Bolts of Zeus. These can be gathered simply by completing Myth Challenges and opening Epic Chests and Vault Chests.
With all that in mind, let’s take a look at what you need to scrounge for, where to find it and what you can use it for.
Immortals Fenyx Rising: Where to find resources
aren’t exactly scarce in Immortals Fenyx Rising, but it takes more effort to find the likes of Ambrosia, Coins of Charon and Lightning Bolts of Zeus than it does to find some mushrooms. You can check out each resource type below alongside its function and where you can find it:
|Resource type||Where to find it||What it’s used for|
|Pomegranates||In baskets near statues, on trees.||Replenishes health when eaten and used to brew health potions.|
|Blue Mushroom||On the ground, in bushes and cliff sides.||Replenishes stamina when eaten and is used to make stamina potions.|
|Olympian Fig||In grasslands, bushes and near statues.||Used to brew Attack potions.|
|Flower Nectar||Near water, in bushes and grasslands.||Used to brew Defense potions.|
|Ambrosia||Can be located using Far Sight. Found near cliff edges and hard to reach places.||Used to increase overall health.|
|Lightning Bolts of Zeus||Vault chests.||Used to increase overall stamina|
|Coins of Charon||By completing Myth Challenges and some vault chests.||Used to upgrade and unlock Abilities|
|Adamantine Shards||Found by destroying bushes or smashing large crystals. Comes in four colour variants: Yellow, Blue, Red, and Purple.||Used to upgrade armour and weapons.|
It can be quite a time-consuming chore to gather all the stuff you’ll need and traipsing back to the Hall of the Gods to upgrade everything, but it’s worth it when you have a range of new powers in your arsenal when you come up against the next boss or challenging enemy. Fortunately, there are Cauldrons of Circe dotted around the map that will let you brew potions in the wild, so look out for the little purple bottle icon.
Immortals Fenyx Rising: How to upgrade your gear and unlock new Abilities
To upgrade your weapons and armour and unlock new Abilities, visit the Hall of Gods and the various stations in it. There’s an individual station for each task, such as brewing potions, increasing your stamina and the weapons and armour upgrade bench, so visit the relevant one to complete your task.
Here’s where to upgrade each element once you reach the Hall of the Gods:
- River Styx Cistern: Upgrade Godly Powers and Abilities
- Bench of Zeus: Use Lightning Bolts to increase Stamina
- Kylix of Athena: Use Ambrosia to upgrade your Health
- Forge of Hephaistos: Improve your weapons, armour and potions
- Cauldron of Circe: Brew Potions (can also be found in the world)
- Hermes’ Heroic Task Board: Pick up new daily and weekly challenges
When unlocking Abilities, you can choose to unlock a Godly Power or an ability relating to a specific weapon, such as your sword or axe. There’s enough choice to suit whatever playstyle you fancy, so read through them all and pick what aligns with your needs. Weapon abilities are essentially new combos, and you can revisit your abilities at any time via the inventory menu if you forget how to do a combo.
Alongside weapon-based Abilities, there are Abilities available that will let you gather resources via telekinesis, let you leap in any direction to climb faster and improve your stealth powers. If all that wasn’t enough, you can also change your looks and voice at Aphrodite’s chair, if you fancy spicing things up a bit, and take on some daily and weekly tasks from Hermes.
