Minecraft Dungeons update lets you do more after beating the game

Mojang Studio’s Diablo-esque take on its classic blocky franchise, Minecraft Dungeons, got a hefty update today alongside new DLC. The update — live now — includes a slew of optimization features for the Xbox Series X version, new missions, and as well additional items to smash your way through creepers and enderman.

The biggest addition in the update is a feature called the Ancient Hunts. With this, players will be able to take on procedurally generated mission after they complete the game. If that’s not enough, you can pay an extra $5.99 and unlock the “Flames of Nether” DLC where you conquer the classic hell-like lava land from the original Minecraft game.

While Minecraft Dungeons is heavily inspired by Minecraft — borrowing characters and its recognizable voxel style — it plays nothing like the original sandbox game. That’s because it’s a top down brawler that has you hacking and slashing through mobs of enemies. Polygon praised the game for its elegant and family-friendly take on the dungeon crawler genre.

Minecraft Dungeons and Flames of Nether DLC is out to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X now.
