Pokémon Go Entei raid guide: counters, best movesets, and more

Entei is a fire-type Legendary Pokémon that can be spotted in Pokémon Go raids.

The Legendary fire-type dog isn’t the best fire attacker around, getting outclassed by Blaziken, Moltres, and Charizard, but it’s still worth having around, especially if you missed out on Community Days for those starters.

Entei’s return also means you can also grab it Shiny if you’re lucky.

Entei is weak against water-, ground-, and rock-type moves, so stick to those when facing off against it. The best counters include the following:

  • Kyogre with Waterfall and Hydro Pump
  • Tyranitar with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Garchomp with Mud Shot and Earthquake
  • Rhyperior with Smack Down and Stone Edge

Vaporeon, Groudon, and fully evolved water starters will also get the job done fairly well if you lack any of the absolute units we listed above.

Entei does the best with Fire Spin and Overheat. You can sub one of those moves out with its other fire-type quick and charge moves, Fire Fang and Flamethrower, but using both of those together makes Entei less effective. Fire Blast and Iron Head both aren’t that great.
