That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 2 is almost back with its second half. The show’s next batch of new episodes will premiere on July 6 in Japan. The announcement came along with a new trailer, which was released by the show’s animation studio, 8-Bit, on Monday.

Part 2 of the anime’s second season continues to follow Rimuru and his country of monster friends, but while they may have earned peace at the end of part 1, it appears to be short lived. After reviving Veldora and giving him a new form, Rimuru and his allies have to take on Clayman, in what looks from the trailer like a massive battle that’s bigger than any they’ve fought before.
The show’s second season was originally supposed to air its first part in October 2020 and its second part in January 2021, but faced production delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, season 2 part 1 started in January 2021 and part 2 was delayed until this summer. The series also has a new spinoff called The Slime Diaries: That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime, which debuted on April 6 and will air its last episode on May 18.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 2 part 2 will likely have 12 episodes, just like the season’s first part. The second part of the season will also likely be streamed in North America shortly after or simultaneously with its Japanese premiere on July 6.
