Zack Snyder teases Joker’s new look for Justice League Snyder Cut

Justice League is coming back with a new and … different cut, thanks to original director Zack Snyder. And it seems that cut will include Jared Leto’s Joker, complete with a new look that Snyder teased on Twitter on Tuesday.

When Justice League was originally in production, it was rumored that Leto’s Joker would be making a post-Suicide Squad return in Snyder’s movie. But thanks to the Justice League’s rocky production and numerous edits, Joker didn’t make it into the theatrical release. It appears that Snyder’s adding the clown prince of crime back into the film for the Snyder Cut version, which will be released on HBO Max in March.

Snyder’s tweet included a photo of a gloved hand holding a Joker card, as well as a blurry image of the Joker in the background. Snyder also tagged both Leto and Suicide Squad director David Ayer in the tweet.

While this is certainly a different look than the tattoo-covered, short-haired Suicide Squad Joker, it isn’t entirely surprising. In November 2020, Snyder revealed to Beyond the Trailer’s Grace Randolph that the Joker would be getting a new look. Based on the photo, it seems we can expect a Joker with longer hair, possibly more traditional makeup, and maybe even a few less tattoos.

Whatever Leto’s new Joker look is, we likely won’t have to wait long to see it. In another Twitter tease, released shortly after Snyder’s tweet, Randolph suggests that we might get another preview on Valentine’s Day.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League, in its full, reedited form, will be released on HBO Max on March 18.
